Dr. Aye Aye Myat is a lecturer at the Department of International Relations, University of Mandalay (UM) and a member of International Relations Office of UM. She completed her PhD dissertation focusing on Myanmar’s International Cooperation in Oil and Gas Sector. She presently teaches two courses on International Relations of Southeast Asia to International Relations student and Comparative Politics of Southeast Asia to Political Science students. She was a Research Fellow at CEU in 2015 and was a Fellow at the Bard College (USA) Writing and Thinking Program. She represented Myanmar as a delegate in the ASEAN+3 Youth Leaders’ Symposium held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia in October 2012. Her special interest is energy politics, especially in the nexus of the resource richness, poor governance and development failure. Her current research explores Myanmar and Its Resource Curse.
