Dr Zaw Soe is a lecturer from Department of International Relations at Mandalay University. He completed his PhD in 2008 with the title “Environment in ASEAN”. He teaches Political Institutions to Second Year IR students, Democracy and Non-democracy to Second Year Political Science students, Political Economy to First Year Honours PS students, and International Political Economy to IR Master Students. He was a Research Fellow at CEU in 2016 and was a Fellow at the Bard College (USA) Writing and Thinking Program in 2017. He is interested in the fields such as Myanmar Politics, Political Institutions, and democratization. He had conducted two project papers; one was funded by Yadanabon University, which is “Global Waves of Democratization and Regional Impacts” and, the other one was funded by Mandalay University, which is “Understanding Three Waves of Reforms under U Thein Sein Government”, respectively in 2015 and in 2018.
